September Shred Street Contest Is Back

It's that time of the year again! The September Shred Street Skateboard Contest is back at each Vans Skatepark on Saturday, September 25th.  This year we have a ton of sponsors and a ton of prizes.  We will be running with three different divisions (Sponsored, 14+ and 6 - 13) and have cash prizes for first place in Sponsored ($500) and 14+ ($300).  For more details about the contest check out the flyers below.  Also please note that there will be course closures that day.

Girls Skate Clinic in September

If you are a girl and looking to shred, we have something for you!  Each Vans Skatepark will be holding a girls only skate clinic on Saturday, September 18th from 8am - 12pm.  Instruction will be given to beginner to advanced girl street skateboarders ages 6 - 16.  Cost is only $20 for members and $30 for non-members.  On top of the instructional clinic, each girl will get a day pass to ride at the park for the rest of the day.  Spots are limited so sign up at your local park today!

Pro Camp Featuring Bucky Lasek Recap

Both Vans Skateparks in Orlando, FL and Orange, CA held a Pro camp over the last two weeks featuring Bucky Lasek and other pros.  Bucky invited Neal Hendrix, Lincoln Ueda, Mike Frazier, Josh Borden and Darin "Cookiehead" Jenkins out to help him teach the kids.  Each park sold out with 30 kids for the two-day advanced skate camp.

Go Skateboarding Day Recap @ Vans Skateparks

Both Vans Skateparks were packed on Go Skateboarding Day this year.  Everyone had a great time with free skating, tons of free product tosses and a $200 high ollie contest.   Dominique "TK" Sanders took the 32" high ollie at The Block and Andrew Aliliran took the 36" high ollie in Orlando.  Check out the photos below and make sure to get out and skate this summer.

Come celebrate Go Skateboarding Day at Vans Skateparks on Monday, June 21st where there will be Free skating in the park all day! That's right we said Free!  Please be aware that the course closures are possible due to reaching capacity...so get there early.  There will be product tosses all day, a $200 high ollie contest at 2pm (registration is at 12pm), and a live DJ.  See flyers below for details...see you there!

Start planning your summer! Both Vans Skateparks in Orange, CA and Orlando, FL currently have 2010 Skate Camp registration open. Each park will run 5 separate weeks of camp Mon - Fri 8am - 12pm for street skateboarders ages 6 - 16. Cost is $170 for members and $195 for non-members. See flyers below for specific camp weeks. Want to learn from the pros? Both Vans Skateparks will be hosting an exclusive pro skate camp featuring Bucky Lasek and other pros this summer. Registration is currently open and cost is $150 for members and $175 for nonmembers. This camp is geared to advanced vert skateboarders and spots are very limited. Orange Skatepark features

Main Street Course
The 20,000 square foot indoor wood (birch) street course features an array of obstacles. The setup includes many popular street features including stair sets, banks, rails, ledges and manual pads. Features on this course can challenge even the most advanced street skater.

The Combi Pool
The Vans Combi is a replica of the original Combi pool which was located at the Upland Pipeline Skatepark in California during the early 1980s. It was believed to be one of the best pools in skateboarding history. The pool features 9ft 9in transitions and is 12ft deep. This thing is massive and always dares even the most experienced skater.

Pee Wee Area
This area is specifically designed for beginners to develop their skills in a less intimidating environment. The course includes all of the features of our main street course only on a smaller scale. All features on this course are 3 feet or lower entirely surfaced in birch.

Mini Ramps
The main mini ramp is 80' wide and has heights ranging from 5ft to 9ft. The majority of the ramp runs 5ft with extensions in the back escalating to sections of vert. The ramp has sections of pool coping and is entirely surfaced in birch. The secret micro mini is a perfect warm up spot. The ramp is 12ft wide and 4ft high surfaced in birch.

Outdoor Street Course
The concrete course features ledges, stairs, manual pads and more. This course also has a lot of movable obstacles that can be set up to the skater's choice.

Arcade
The arcade area includes some of the latest arcade games that you can play when you need a break.

Rental equipment
*The safety of our patrons is first and foremost to Vans. If you are under 18, you will not be allowed use of the Skatepark without wearing knee pads, elbow pads and a helmet. If you are 18 or older, you may opt not to wear knee pads or elbow pads but you must wear a helmet.

Private Lessons
Customers must complete a registration form and pay in person at the park one week prior to the lesson.
Private Lessons are offered Monday - Thursday from 12:00pm - 7:00pm in one hour increments.
Cost is $40 per hour and each additional skater is $30.
A max of five skaters per instructor is allowed.
A group of five skaters gets a special rate of $130 (5th child free!)
We offer instruction for beginner to intermediate street skateboarding.
Skaters must be six years old or older and have a proper waiver filled out.
Price includes instruction, pad rental and board rental.

PARK RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. No one under 18 will be allowed to enter or remain in the Vans Skate Park (the “Park”) unless they are wearing full protective gear, including, but not limited to, a helmet, elbow and knee pads. All participants must have a signed liability waiver on file with the Park.

2. Participants under the age of 18 must have their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) sign the waiver, in the presence of a Vans employee or a
notary public. (There are no exceptions to this rule.)

3. All participants must skate/ride safely at all times and avoid collisions with other participants. Fighting or other aggressive or disruptive
behavior will result in ejection from the Park.

4. No food or drink may be brought into the Park and participants may only consume food and drink in the designated areas. Non skate/rider
equipment or gear, and any other items, must be stored in locations outside the skate area.

5. Smoking is prohibited in this facility.

6. No one under the age of six (6) years shall be allowed into the skating area of the Park.

7. No contests of any sort are allowed in the Park unless organized and run by the Park itself.

8. The Park reserves the right to terminate any membership at any time, and to eject anyone at any time for any reason.

9. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times while in the Skate Park.
